- spread the scapulae apart
- elongate the spine
- hips over the knee, don’t tilt to the side
- draw the belly in
- push the thigh of the bent leg forward
- avoid clenching the shoulders and scapulae
- quadriceps of the front leg active
- toes of the front foot pointing upwards
